Observations of a Common Man...

So…this ‘Viajero…blogging Rick’s Journey’ has surely taken a hiatus. My goal…to pen (pencil, type, place in an electronic format) my travels through life. Though it has often been literal travels, it also becomes my observations and experience as just another living soul who has wandered through the second half of the 20th and now into the 17th year of the 21st century. As well, it is personal reflections as a Christ follower. My desire is to write once, if not twice a month.
Why then the hiatus? Motivation is surely a factor, and equally my schedule. Though, regarding schedule, it has not been so full so as that there hasn’t been time. But schedule does present an important consideration. I’ve attempted to be very intentional to emphasize to those who say, “Rick, you have such a busy schedule”, to quip that my schedule is not so much “busy” as it is “full”. Semantics, perhaps! And though ‘busy’ includes many positive connotations, it’s the negative terms such as: overly occupied, preoccupied, distracted, busy as a bee, or constantly on the go, that directs me to the term ‘full’. To me ‘full’ is a concept that is more deliberate. Now I recognize that we all become ‘busy’ at times, yet many (if not most) in this insane fast-paced 21st century life, find themselves so ‘busy’ that intentional time to relax, to be specific about particular tasks and to be in positive relationship with others, is almost non-existent because…well, we’re all just to busy :) :(

Anyway, I write the above just to say that I hope to return to an occasional blog regarding my travels, observations, experience and reflections. To do so perhaps I need to be intentional...deliberate... and simply schedule a couple times to blog each month. At the same time, not being so strict or stressed that it solely creates a ‘busy' life.

Surely there needs to be time for 'Saturday in the Park'.
